Letters to our Mushers

As a culmination to our Iditarod unit students wrote letters to the mushers they had followed throughout the race.  They told the musher a little bit about themselves and asked them questions about mushing and the Iditarod.  We enclosed self-addressed stamp envelopes in hopes of getting replies.  I am happy to say that about half the class received letters from their mushers.  Some even got a little souvenir along with the letter.  The kids were so excited to see that they had mail!!!  Here are some of the kids showing off their letters:
