Letters to our Mushers
As a culmination to our Iditarod unit students wrote letters to the mushers they had followed throughout the race. They told the musher a little bit about themselves and asked them questions about mushing and the Iditarod. We enclosed self-addressed stamp envelopes in hopes of getting replies. I am happy to say that about half the class received letters from their mushers. Some even got a little souvenir along with the letter. The kids were so excited to see that they had mail!!! Here are some of the kids showing off their letters:
Cinco De Mayo
A little late but I want to thank Mrs. Hernandez for coming in and teaching our class about Cinco De Mayo. We learned about the history behind the holiday, made pinatas, and ate traditional Mexican food. It was a fun afternoon.

4th Grade Beatles Concert
I'm happy to say that our 4th Grade concert was a huge success! I was happy to see so many of my students and families in attendance. The 4th grade, especially my students did an amazing job! They sung loud and proud and really seemed to enjoy themselves. I was happy to see all their hard work and practice pay off!

Easter Bunny Trap STEM Experiment
On Friday we celebrated Easter by doing a fun STEM experiment. The assignment was to design and construct a trap that would capture the Easter bunny. The groups of students were given a list of supplies that they could use to construct the trap. They had to work together to choose the materials, design the trap, construct the trap, and test the trap. It was really fun to watch the groups work together! It was also amazing to see how different the finished traps were.
The Easter bunny came to visit our classroom and was caught by this trap:
